Mack Hoover designs and makes unique whistles. His "signature sound" is quiet, but he does make louder whistles, too. That typical Hoover sound is pure and "sweet", but you can request it with just a hint of chiff. If you are looking for a whistle that you can play alone or with your friends without disturbing the neighbors, you've come to the right place. Mack still makes brass whistles but is moving more toward what he calls the "Whitecap", a PVC or CPVC mouthpiece that he uses on aluminum , brass, or poly barrels. It can be used to retrofit a disappointing sounding whistle and turn it into a gem that you will treasure. Mack also works with wood and Delrin as well as his customary CPVC.
